[Document Viewer](https://knowledge.vlex.com/en/getting-started?hsLang=en#document-viewer) # Document cards ## vLex tools provide an immediate, comprehensive analysis of documents. **Important information cards** When viewing a document, you could see up to four cards that display relevant information at a glance, saving you valuable research time.   #### **First card** The type of information on this card will differ depending on the document type. However, it usually contains a variety of useful information about the document you are looking at, whether that is a list of parallel citations, information about the author, or the date of publication. ![Screenshot 2025-05-02 220521](https://knowledge.vlex.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20SS/Screenshot%202025-05-02%20220521.png?width=670&height=418&name=Screenshot%202025-05-02%20220521.png)   Citations will always link to documents on vLex where possible.   #### **Case law cards** For case law, you will see three additional cards, outlined below:   **Key phrases** This card summarises the top information that vLex can extract from the document. Select **Show all** to see all of the categories assigned to the case. You can expand it by clicking **Show all** . As these sections of the judgment are most frequently cited in other cases, they are usually the most important. ![Screenshot 2025-05-02 220545](https://knowledge.vlex.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Knowledge%20Base%20SS/Screenshot%202025-05-02%20220545.png?width=670&height=416&name=Screenshot%202025-05-02%20220545.png) When scrolling through a judgment, you will notice that any section that has been directly cited is highlighted in blue. The darker the shade of blue, the more frequently cited that section is. Click on any highlighted section to see where it has been cited. You can navigate to the most commonly cited passages of the judgment by using the scroll bar to the right of the document.
